About Me
I bring a diverse background to my company, Healthy Body Healthy Mind. This background helps me facilitate my ability to communicate and understand the multiple and diverse backgrounds of clients who seek my help.
As a child, I survived a very rare life-threatening spinal tumor which remained undiagnosed for several years causing further damage during that time. This led to unremitting physical, mental and emotional pain throughout my childhood resulting in a later diagnosis of PTSD. I have also survived and thrived through two journeys of breast cancer. As a result of these experiences, I have an uncanny understanding of physical and emotional pain, especially that of children. This understanding allows me to relate to the many diverse experiences of my clients; and specifically Holding Space - being present with someone during a health crisis (aka coming to grips with the diagnosis). Let’s face it, being ill can be lonely and scary, and often family and friends do not know how to help. My goal is that my work coupled with a diverse background, deep understanding, and empathy facilitates the healing process of my clients.
I have a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Medical Social Work from California State University at Long Beach(CSULB). I have also completed graduate work in Educational Psychology, and received several Special Education teaching credentials. I completed my Hypnosis and Neurolinguistic Programming (NLP) training from Bennett/Stellar University, International Hypnosis Federation, The American Institute of Hypnotherapy, Holmes Center of Hypnotherapy, New Focus Institute, and Hypnosis Motivational Institute. I also completed a basic nutrition program from the University of Ohio. I have several valuable certifications in Hypnosis, Neurolinguistic Programming, TimeLine Therapy, Life Coach, Reike and Nutrition. Additionally, I hold several specialty certifications in pain control, fibromyalgia, IBS, hypertension, weight management, smoking cessation and more. I’m also a Certified HeartMath Practitioner in anxiety, stress management and self-regulation. I’m a former member of the American Board of Hypnotherapy, the National Guild of Hypnotists, National League of Medical Hypnotherapist’s and the American Hypnosis Association.
After working as a hypnotherapist specializing in eating disorders, I opened my company, Healthy Body Healthy Mind, which is dedicated to helping others in their request for spiritual, mental, physical and emotional health.
I have also conducted several presentations for Hypnotherapy, Stress Management and Seed Nutrition Education to small and large groups alike.

My Cancer Journey
Have you ever had a life changing experience that comes at you from “out of the blue” and manages to turn your life upside down and maybe even inside out? Or even further, maybe you’ve had multiple experiences like that? If not, congratulations, consider yourself one of the “lucky ones”!
2012 was THE YEAR for me! When I heard the Doctor say “You have breast cancer,” I heard nothing else from that point forward. I became numb and immediately went into an altered state. Many people going through this experience define their life forward as “after the diagnosis,” which for me was May 2012, and their life as they now know it changes from that day on.
I found the emotions surging through me to be uncontrollable at times, even with my extensive professional training, knowledge, tools, and experience with my traumatic childhood events.
This was ANOTHER unknown dark path that I grew to embrace, acknowledge and eventually even respect. I worked hard to research everything I could on this diagnosis, and find the best practitioners to support me during this challenging journey. I worked hard with all my treatment protocols and took total responsibility for my healing process which empowered me to manifest a positive outcome at the time.
Five years later, almost to the day, ready to celebrate my five year “cancerversary” I was diagnosed a second time…Shock again!
This time I added an additional nutritional product to my treatment protocol, including Rain International’s Seed Nutrition-(SOUL)
This line of products was first developed by the University of Maryland doctors and scientists to support children fighting cancer whose immune systems were devastated by chemotherapy and were finding it difficult to eat and ingest needed nutrition.
I also sought out more answers and healing to the emotional and mental challenges connected to this “dreaded” medical issue. As I dove deeper into understanding, I learned that there were more energetic issues I was holding onto which needed to be addressed. It has been said that “CANCER IS THE TEARS THAT HAVE NOT BEEN SHED.” I look back now on my own life and I sincerely believe that to be true.
To this day I continue to work with my commitment to ensure my body stays healthy with the valuable resources I’ve referred to that are available to everyone seeking well tested, and valuable information for either prevention or treatment of cancer or any disease which our bodies are susceptible to.
